Three Hundred Tears is an installation informed by the Social Outbreak in Chile, which began on October 18, 2019, as a demand for a dignified life and basic rights. It consists of 300 hand‑knit wire tears, each representing a person injured in the eye during the protests. By September 20, 2020, documented cases had reached over 440 individuals visually affected by shots to their eyes from Chilean police forces.
The tears hang delicately from piano strings, creating a quiet, mournful field of suspended forms that stands as a somber testament to the human cost of the struggle for justice and fundamental rights.
